JODI LONG <\/strong>(Phyllis\/Young Phyllis<\/em>) won an Emmy for her role as Mrs Basil E, in Netflix\u2019s Dash & Lily<\/em>, becoming the first Asian-American actor to win in any acting category across Emmy competition. She\u2019s best known as Awkwafina\u2019s mom in Marvel\u2019s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings<\/em> and most recently appeared in Universal\u2019s horror film Night Swim<\/em>. Broadway: Sondheim\u2019s Getting Away with Murder<\/em>, Rodgers and Hammerstein\u2019s Flower Drum Song, Loose Ends<\/em> with Kevin Kline, The Bacchae<\/em> and Nowhere to Go But Up <\/em>directed by Sydney Lumet. As a TV series regular: Ocha on TBS\u2019s Sullivan & Son<\/em>, NBC\u2019s Miss Match<\/em>, and Margaret Cho\u2019s mother on ABC\u2019s All-American Girl<\/em>. Other TV credits include: Chicago Med, The Blacklist, Falling Water, Sex and the City, Elementar<\/em>y and Eli Stone<\/em>. Other film credits: Beginners<\/em> with Ewan McGregor and Christopher Plummer, The Tale<\/em> with Laura Dern, The Hot Chick, Patty Hearst,<\/em> and Born on the Fourth of July<\/em>. Jodi\u2019s documentary, Long Story Short <\/em>which she wrote about her show business family and directed by Christine Choy won the audience award at the Los Angeles Asian American Film Festival. Her one woman show Surfing DNA aka American Jade<\/em> has played around the country at Bucks County Playhouse, New Jersey Rep and East West Players in Los Angeles.
