Since then she has appeared on the New York Stage both on and off-Broadway.  Plays include Beth Henley\u2019s <em>Family Week<\/em>, and <em>The Debutant Ball<\/em>.  She co-starred with Gena Rowland\u2019s in the John Cassavettes play, <em>Woman of Mystery<\/em> directed by John Cassavettes. At Lincoln Center for Joe Papp her performances include <em>The Tempest<\/em> and <em>Macbeth <\/em>as well as many other plays at the Public Theatre<em>, <\/em>including <em>Wasp <\/em>and<em> Other Plays <\/em>by Steve Martin. She starred alongside Shelley Winters on Broadway in <em>The Effect of Gama Rays, on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds<\/em>.  In addition Kane has been seen on Broadway and Los Angeles, starring as Madame Morrible in <em>Wicked<\/em>.  Last year as Kane was seen as Gingy in Nora & Delia Ephron\u2019s off-Broadway hit, <em>Love, Loss, and What I Wore (NY and LA). <\/em>Most recently she was see in Ian Rickson\u2019s West End production of <em>The Children\u2019s Hour<\/em> with Keira Knightly, Elisabeth Moss and Ellen Burstyn.<\/p><p> <\/p><p> Kane made her film debut in Mike Nichols\u2019 <em>Carnal Knowledge<\/em>,  other films include, <em>Wedding in White<\/em> co-starring with Donald Pleasence, <em>The Last Detail<\/em> for director Hal Ashby, <em>Dog Day Afternoon<\/em>, director Sidney Lumet, <em>Annie Hall<\/em> diected by Woody Allen, <em>The Lemon Sisters<\/em> co-starring Diane Keaton and Katherine Grody, <em>The Princess Bride, d<\/em>irector Rob Reiner, <em>Scrooged<\/em>  director Dick Donner, <em>My Blue Heaven<\/em> written by Nora Ephron, as well as Steve Buscemi\u2019s <em>Trees Lounge<\/em>, <em>Addams Family Values<\/em>, <em>When a Stranger Calls<\/em>, <em>Flashback <\/em>starring Dennis Hopper, <em>The World's Greatest Lover<\/em> co-starring Gene Wilder, and <em>The Muppet Movie,<\/em> just to name just a few. Most recently Kane\u2019s performed in Mike Birbiglia\u2019s <em>Sleep Walk With Me<\/em>, the film was awarded the Best of NEXT award at the Sundance Film Festival. Kane was nominated for an Oscar for best actress for her performance in Joan Micklin Silver\u2019s film <em>Hester Street<\/em>. Her television credits include: Simka, wife of Latka (Andy Kaufman) on the television series \u201cTaxi.\u201d For which she won two Emmy awards. \u201cPearl,\u201d \u201cAll Is Forgiven\u201d and \u201cChicago Hope\u201d where she garneed another Emmy nomination. She was seen as Richard Belzer\u2019s ex-wife on \u201cLaw & Order: SVU,\u201d as well as the television series \u201cTwo and Half Men.\u201d<\/p>","website":"","alt":null}
